Galactic Center Molecular Arms, Ring and Expanding Shells. I Kinematical Structures in Longitude-velocity Diagrams
Analyzing the (l, b, V LSR) data cube of 13 CO(J = 1 − 0) line emission obtained by Bally et al, we have investigated the molecular gas distribution and kinematics in the central ±1 • (±150 pc) region of the Galaxy. We have applied the pressing method to remove the local-and foreground-gas components at low velocities in order to estimate the intensity more quantitatively. Two major dense molec...
متن کاملthe search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame
this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...
15 صفحه اولCosmology and Galactic Rotation Curves
We explore the possibility that the entire departure of galactic rotational velocities from their luminous Newtonian expectation be cosmological in origin, and show that within the framework of conformal gravity (but not Einstein gravity apparently) every static observer sees the overall Hubble flow as a local universal linear potential which is able to account for available data without any ne...
متن کاملRotation and the wind momentum–luminosity relation for extragalactic distances
The effects of axial stellar rotation on the wind–momentum relation (WLR) for determining the extragalactic distances are investigated. Despite the fact that the mass loss rates grow quite a lot with rotation, remarkably the effects on the WLR are found to be very small on the average. As an example, for an average orientation angle between the rotation axis and the line of sight, the luminosit...
متن کاملArc Diagrams, Flip Distances, and Hamiltonian Triangulations
We show that every triangulation (maximal planar graph) on n 6 vertices can be flipped into a Hamiltonian triangulation using a sequence of less than n/2 combinatorial edge flips. The previously best upper bound uses 4-connectivity as a means to establish Hamiltonicity. But in general about 3n/5 flips are necessary to reach a 4-connected triangulation. Our result improves the upper bound on the...
